“The Indie50 is a great opportunity to promote some of the people who make the scene what it is”

A broadcaster with a strong indie spirit, Tom Ravenscroft has been bringing quality new music to listeners via a range of projects for the last decade. Along with his regular Friday night 9pm slot and Recommends show on BBC Radio 6 Music, Tom regularly features on 6 Music depping for Steve Lamacq, Mark Riley and Gideon Coe, as well as hosting major radio spots including from Latitude, the 6 Music Festival and the 2015 Mercury Music Prize. With his involvement in TV he has fronted an array of music focused shows including iTunes Festival 2013; coverage of the Isle of Wight Festival 2012; Abbey Road Debuts; and John Peel’s Record Box – in which he travelled around Britain and the U.S. interviewing seminal musicians such as Elton John, Jack White and Damon Albarn. Through radio, television, and even a weekly column in The Times, few have given as great a platform to the discussion of new bands and emerging trends in the British music scene.
