Over £20,000 raised for Tickets for Good

Almost one year on from the launch of our partnership with Tickets for Good, we’re proud to announce that with the support of our customers, more than £20,000 has been raised for the Ticket Fund. These funds have helped thousands of NHS workers attend uplifting live events at no cost, as well as creating exclusive NHS-only events with huge live comedy acts including Ed Gamble and Phil Wang.

The NHS Full House Comedy events at 21Soho have proved hugely popular so far, with free tickets in high demand for a great line-up at this brilliant new central London venue. Audiences loved the presence of emerging female comedians as well as household names, almost as much as the complimentary mince pies. Bringing a bit of festive cheer to a challenging winter for NHS workers, it was a great way for them to reap the rewards of WeGotTickets customers’ generosity with checkout donations.

Followed up with a second highly successful event on St Patrick’s Day headlined by Phil Wang, support from the Ticket Fund has brought live comedy to hundreds of NHS workers looking for a lively midweek night out to relieve stress, reward their hard work, and introduce them to a brilliant new venue to enjoy year-round. It demonstrates the potential for the Ticket Fund to help local venues attract new audiences — without the cost — through no-strings-attached funds.

With two highly successful comedy events under our belts, the world’s attention quickly turned to the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. We rapidly pivoted to collect donations for the Disasters Emergency Committee, supporting relief efforts in Ukraine. At a time when organisations from every industry sought to rally together and help Ukrainian citizens in the face of invasion.

The partnership between Tickets for Good and WeGotTickets is now embarking on a new phase, raising thousands more to help bring the magic of live events to those who have had little opportunity to experience it. Phase 2 of the Ticket Fund brings new ways for businesses to support the project, including working in partnership with local Business Improvement Districts to power live events, and match-funding local venues to help them welcome new audiences from the NHS and local charities, at no extra cost to them.

We’re delighted that the funds donated by our customers have enabled Tickets For Good to bring about brilliant live events with a fantastic fundraising effort of more than £20,000 in just a year.

After such a difficult year for both NHS workers nationwide and the UK’s world-class cultural sector, Christmas is a great opportunity to spread some joy with top-class comedy. The Ticket Fund is a unique way for us to give back to NHS workers and we’re really excited to kick off the festive season with a full house of NHS workers having a brilliant time.’ (Dec ‘21)
